We organized planting activity related to 22nd April The Earth Day. We took 30 students to Işıklı Forest for planting. The students planted 30 trees and they got very happy for protecting and contribution to green environment. This activity was implemented with the cooperation of TEMA ( The Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, For Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats) which is a non governmental organisation.
Another activity related to the Earth Day was cleaning Işıklı beach. We organized a competition for collecting rubbish. Our students formed a team as four people and they competed to collect the largest amount of rubbish in 30 minutes. We weighed all the bags each team collected and noted their weights. Then we announced the winning team and gave a present to each student. The present was “The Earth” as a sharpener.
