On March 24-29, the Erasmus + project "Love Every Drop" learning and teaching meeting was held in Dunavarsány, Hungary. The topic of the Teaching and Learning Week was "Art and water". The aim was to examine the relationship between these two topics, and broaden our minds.
Day 1
In the morning, after a short introduction and welcoming ceremony we visited the Institute of Ornitology and watched the birds and there was also bird ringing. After that we went to the Danube and the children could try dragon boating. In the afternoon we enjoyed a folk dance performance and after that we showed our presentations. At the end of the day everybody received their certificate.
Day 2
After a short sightseeing tour in Budapest we visited the Houses of Parliament. We had lunch in a lovely place on the riverbank. In the afternoon we went to the Heroes Square for a short walk and participated in a scavenger hunt type of game in the Museum of Fine Arts.
Day 3
This day revolved around lake Balaton, which is the biggest lake in central Europe. We admired the view at Balatonakarattya, after that we continued our journey to Keszthely. Here you can find the castle of the Festetics family, which work as a museum now. We visited the hunting exhibition and the railway model exhibition as well. In the afternoon we also visited the Balaton Museum.
Day 4
On this day our destination was Visegrád, which lies on the bank of the Danube, that’s why we went by boat. During the journey we played games, as well organized an intercultural song festival for ourselves. In Visegrád we visited the citadel and had lunch in a place with a beautiful view to the river. At the time we arrived back to Budapest it was already dark, so we had the chance to see Budapest at night. We walked in the city, used the funicular to see the castle and the Fishermen’s Bastion.
Day 5
On the last day of the programme we went to Poroszló to visit the Eco Centre. This place lies on the bank of the Tisza river, which is the second biggest river in Hungary. There we watched a 3D movie about the nature and inhabitants of this area. This institute has the biggest freshwater aquarium in Europe with lots of fishes and other animals who live in fresh water.
Outside the centre there was a nature trail, where you can find a lot of animals, also a special playground for the kids to have some fun.
Hopefully everybody enjoyed this week and learned something new of our environment and our culture.
